Additional Technical
Information
The MSE-LT205 Laser
Distance Measurement Sensor is extremely versatile and
can be programmed to operate in various distance measurements
modes either remotely controlled or automatically, using a PC or
a host computer or as a stand alone microprocessor device. The MSE-LT205
is provided with LDMTool PC software that allows the user to
communicate with the laser via a serial link and to set the
lasers various parameters.
Other programming parameter
features include: The MSE-LT205 Sensor can be
programmed with a scale factor which allows the sensor to
measure in mm, cm, m, inches, feet, yards or a user programmable
scale. The MSE-LT205 Sensor can be programmed with a
distance offset which allows the sensor to measure from a zero
point that is different than the zero point inside of the
sensor. Also the sensor can be programmed by a software command
so that the distance currently being measured is set as the
distance offset. The MSE-LT205 Sensor can be programmed in
a level mode so that the distance being measured is outputted
from an empty condition to a full or overflow condition. The
zero and span of the 4-20mA analog output of the MSE-LT205
Sensor can also be programmed via software.
The distance measurement of the MSE-LT205 can be controlled in
these various modes of operation:
|
1. |
Manually with a PC using
HyperTerminal, a terminal emulation program or the
provided LDMTool software via the RS232 or the optional
RS422/RS485 serial interface |
|
2. |
Manually by transmitting
ASCII characters via the RS232 or the optional
RS422/RS485 serial interface from a PLC, a PC, a host
computer or a stand alone microprocessor device. |
|
3. |
Automatically as a stand
alone device and programmed to start in the AutoStart
mode. |
|
4. |
Continuously by selecting
distance tracking mode |
|
5. |
Remotely controlled by using
the external trigger |
|
6. |
Remotely controlled via the
serial interface |
| |
|
| Distance
measurement can be monitored in different ways:
|
|
1. |
Using the 4 - 20 mA Analog
Output |
|
2. |
Data transfer using the
RS232 serial interface |
|
3. |
Data transfer using the
optional RS422/RS485 serial interface |
|
4. |
Data transfer using the
optional ProfiBus, Profinet or the Ethernet TCP/IP
FieldBus Interface. |
Optional ancillary equipment include an external ProfiBus DP Gateway
Interface Box, an external ProfiBus DP interface box, an external
ProfiNet interface box, an external DeviceNet interface box, an external
Ethernet TCP/IP interface box, an external Ethernet/IP Interface box,
various Junction Boxes, and AC to DC Power Supplies.
Also available is
an HMI/Controller that allows connection and communication with one (1)
or two (2) MSE-LT205 Laser Distance Measurement Sensors for
programming and displaying of distance measurement, length measurement,
product presence. or product position, and with (2) lasers connected can
be used to calculate and display the width, length or thickness of hot
or cold product. |
