The MSE-PF100 Digital Scanning Hot Metal Detector operates by microprocessor comparison of the background and hot product signal. Neither static hot scale or steam in the field of view causes false triggering. Furthermore, lens contamination will not raise its trip level.  The MSE-PF100 provides precise reliable detection of Hot Metal or Hot Product at 300°C (480°F) and above. The response time is also programmable from 1ms to 250ms..

The MSE-PF100 incorporates a remote self-check facility which remotely energized by closed contacts that switch the detector and verify the outputs are operating correctly.

The MSE-PF100 will operate from either 24VDC or optional 80-240 VAC power input. The MSE-PF100 has four (4) Standard outputs which a Cradle Relay Output, with a SPNO contact rated at 240VAC, 10A and has a 4 ms response time, on Opto-isolated NPN Output dated at 30 VDC, 150 mA, 200mW, and has a 2 ms response, and selectable NPN & PNP Transistor Outputs rated at 500 mA, 24 VDC.

This graph illustrates hot product is detected by reference to an appropriate site-adjusted control margin (stored in Non-Volatile memory) that ensures sufficient gap between background IR signal and the IR radiating from the product.  

This graph illustrates the control margin. Where the background IR is uniform then the control margin can be set to a lower figure. Any hot product passing needs to give a signal that exceeds the set point.

Outputs delayed from the detection of leading and trailing edge by 10 digitally adjustable present delay times from 1ms to 250ms.
