Housing Technical Information

The following is specifications and dimensional information on the housing for the Moduloc MSE-LT205VHT  Laser Distance Measurement Sensor.

The standard  MSE-LT205VHT is provided in a heavy duty, mill duty, robust dust and waterproof protected IP66 housing. On the backside of the housing is mounted an IP66 rated 12 Pin M16 Male box connector.  The standard operating temperature range is -20°C (-4°F) to +50°C (122°F) an optional internal PTC heater is available for operation down to -40°C (-40°F). 

An optional Cooling Jacket can be provided to allow operating temperature up to 100°C (212°F) using water chilled at -20°C (-4°F). Cooling can be accomplished with the use of an an optional in-line Vortex tube air cooler in place of water cooling to allow operating temperature up to 80°C (176°F).  An optional Modular Air Combination Unit is available that includes a pressure relief valve, an air filter with 5 μm filtration, a coalescing filter with 0.01 μm filtration and an adjustable pressure regulator. 

Other optional accessories are available for the housing including a heat reflective shield, a Kevlar heat reflective protective cover, and a sun shield for outdoor applications.

The heat reflective protective cover is custom fabricated and is made with Eko-Therm™ aluminized Kevlar with high temperature construction and high temperature Velcro® closures. The cover provides a unique combination of thermal insulation and heat reflective qualities. It helps maintain cooling process line temperatures in high ambient conditions or alongside external radiating heat sources. The cover is constructed in 3 layers to provide maximum insulation properties to meet or exceed maximum temperature requirements

Other accessories include a wall mounting bracket, a front Protective Extension Tube, a front Protective Extension Tube with an air purge inlet, and a Long Extension tube to significantly reduce radiant IR interference, and a gray filter to limit sunlight that attaches to the front of the standard and the optional front extension tubes.

The standard the MSE-LT205VHT is supplied with a cable assembly which includes a mating M16, IP66 rated 12-pin female plug, and a 12 conductor color coded cable with flying leads. The standard cable length is 3 meters (9.8 FT). The cable assembly is also available in optional lengths of 5, 10 and 15 meters.

The MSE-LT205VHT  with its' heavy-duty, steel mill duty, robust IP66 housing is ideal for steel mill applications that require a very rugged housing for protection.

The MSE-LT205VHT Laser Distance Measurement Sensor mounted on a supplied Horizontal Mounting Bracket and shown with an Optional optional Long Extension Protective Tube. The Long Extension Tube is to significantly reduce radiant IR interference.

The Long Extension Tube is to significantly reduce radiant IR interference. There is also an Optional version of the Long Extension Protective Stainless Steel Tube that includes an air purge.
