The Model MSE-FMD94 Remote Fiber Digital Hot Metal Detector Sensor
Signal Processor Controller shown with a MSE.OH.03.XX-Y Remote Optic Head with a Rectangular FOV Lens,
mounted on a MSE-LH01 "L" Mounting Bracket
a Signal Power Connection Cable, and a Fiber Optic Lead. |
Model MSE-FMD94 Low Temperature Remote Remote Fiber Digital Hot Metal Detectors (HMD) General Description The MSE-FMD94 fully digital "All-in-One" Low Temperature Remote Remote Hot Metal Detector incorporates a bar display showing the IR input signal relative to the pre-set trip level as well as selected programmable thresholds and response times via simple external programming switch action. Operates via highly sensitive and stable InGaAs Photodiode, detection is assured via the heaviest water and steam. The MSE-FMD94 utilizes a modular digital Low Temperature Remote Controller in a protective mounting Cradle, flexible armored optic leads and interchangeable Remote Lenses. As the controller can be used in conjunction with any lens option one standard controller can be used throughout the mill. Now there is no need to stock a detector for each requirement. Costly multiple inventory can be replaced with one detector.
A wide variety of remote lenses impervious to
water & steam are built to withstand the harshest environments are
available. Used in conjunction with flexible armored optic leads, these
lenses provide a high level of optical accuracy by allowing the
selection of the ideal lens arrangement for the installation. Robust
lenses with temperature ratings of 180°C, 600°C and 1000°C can be
mounted close to the hot product. Various robust lens mounts are
available including air purged, air purged with air cooling and air
purged with water cooling. Also
available is the 1° FOV Shrouded Quartz Rod Spot Lens rated
at 1000°C. This lens is specifically engineered
for mounting in the harsh and high ambient environment below the mill line or
inside the mill stand. |

Front LED Bar Display The front LED Bar Display of the MSE-FMD94 Signal Process Controller allows the user to clearly establish the amount of received IR both from the background metalwork and the bar being detected and thereby establishing the correct trip level required. The far left red LED in this display also allows the user to align the Detector of a low energy IR source (flashlight), which normally would be insufficient to switch the detector. When the low energy IR source is detected the single red LED powers on. Adjustment of both the threshold and the response time is also clearly defined by this bar display. The MSE-FMD94 is a direct replacement for the MCSL Model MD9100-HG and Model MD95100-HG Remote Hot Metal Detectors. Please contact us for additional information. |
